General Fund – This fund enables us to offer fun stuff (Picnic at VLP, Fun at the Falls, Conservation Kids), Educational Programs (Tech Sessions, Living Wills) and projects (trees at Splash Park, scorer’s tables at Fletcher Field). List of what we did last year.

Join – Joining is a type of donation, too. Membership dues pay boring stuff like insurance, PO box rental and stamps. But this is critical to help keep the organization running so we can fulfill our mission. ($10, 25, 120, 500)

Other ways to donate

Memorial (or in Honor) If you choose to list FVR as a charity to memorialize someone, we will send a thank you letter to each donor acknowledging their gift and send a list of donors to the family. Or, if FVR is your charity of choice for a memorial donation, we will notify the family.

Matching Gifts Through Your Employer – FVR is recognized by Corning, Duke Energy and Google for matching gifts and volunteer hours

Shop at SwimOutlet for Valdese Torpedo Swim Team – 8% of all purchases made thought the starting link go to the team. Valdese Torpedo Swim Team is a kid’s summer league led by the Valdese Recreation Department. Signups usually start in April and practice in late May.

Grants

Grants will also be applied for to help pay for the park and programs. If you know of grants not on this list, let us know. Showing the community supports the park via donations is helpful in the grant application process.
