Features Wanted
- 7,500-10,000 Ft Gold Course
- Plan Gold Tee First, Short/Red Tee Last
- 4 Tees (do not have movable baskets)
- Trapezoid tee pads (like Catawba Meadows)
- Access to all holes (ATV – OK, Truck – Better)
- 4-6 wider fairways – Grip & Rip, Elevated Tees
- Space for viewers, cameraman, etc during tournament
- 90 players need to park = 50+ spaces (25% paved)
- Throw across water feature to end course
- Holes that need strategy/planning
- Error on the side of longer
- PAR 65-68 (6 tight, 6 moderate, 6 wide open)
- Innova Baskets (Rock Hill, SC 1st choice), Dynamic Discs (2nd)
- Build for players of the future, think about how game may change
- Scoring separation, risk/reward
- Out of Bound areas (natural vs man-made)
- 2 – 9 hole loops
- Practice Area with Basket near parking to wait for friends
- Make sure course can host PDGA Sanctioned Events
- Goal: Be on PDGA Major Tour List for 2019
Do Not Want
- Cute stuff added over quality course design (benches, gimmicks, etc)
- No tweeners
- No Up-Down-Up-Down (like Richmond Hill)
- No Formula to holes – short-long-short-long; mix it up
- No to Prodigy and DGA Baskets
